My name is Kayla and I'm an explorer of the creative mind!

My main focus is photography because I'm passionate about capturing and sharing the beauty I see around me. My portfolio features theater/live event photography, nature photography, and artistic portraits.

Fine Art is where my artistic journey began, and it has since expanded to include artwork varying in media - from fine art like paintings and drawings created using pencil, charcoal, and oil pastels, to digital art created in PhotoShop, Illustrator, and ProCreate.

I have also dabbled in some of graphic design work including poster designs, a t-shirt design, show/event programs, and even a tattoo design that later made its way to be featured as part of the ink collection I have on my body.

The most unexpected skillset I have acquired is audio engineering in systems like ProTools. I learned and honed my audio skills during my time on the Exec Board of WJMU - the college radio station of my alma mater, Millikin University.

As you can see, I have a variety of skillsets that can be further explored throughout my portfolio. I love to explore new creative outlets and my innate curiosity makes me a lifelong learner!
My Story
I have always been a photographer and an artist at heart. When I was little my parents got me a small purple digital camera, and I LOVED it! That camera went with me everywhere I went, and I took photos of EVERYTHING - my family, flowers, my stuffies, the sky, everything! Photography has always been something that has been near and dear to my heart because I love capturing the beauty of the world around me and sharing it with people, hoping to show them some of the little magnificent things that they may have missed. As I have gotten older I have experimented with my art and branched out my skillsets through diving deeper into my creative side. My innate curiosity makes me a lifelong learner and I am always looking for new ways to branch out that skillset even further!
